I'm new to Tessitura and new to these forums but hoping you can guide me to white papers or tutorials which will help me to understand how to set up trigger based comms. For example, whenever someone has one of the following, we'd like to pull a list and develop communications:
I've not been able to figure out if (1) Tessitura has trigger functionality and (2) whether communications can be set up in advance to run automatically.
Anyone have experience in this area and willing to share knowledge?
In advance, thanks.
Elizabeth
Hi Elizabeth,
I'm not sure about triggering a message when a specific transaction occurs, but I know you can set a report to run on a schedule. Although it's a basic concept it has a lot of flexibility.
For your first example you can schedule the New Contributions Report to run every day, or what ever timing works best. The report criteria would be a transaction start and end date that covers the previous 24 hours plus only include constituents on a List. You define this List of constituents in List Manager to find donors who gave more than X in the past 24 hours. If it needs to be a donation to a specific fund then select those funds in both the List and Report.
The date range both in the report parameters and the list criteria can be relative so you set up one list and one report and then re-use it every day. If the date range selections don't make sense check out Sandra's T-Cast: Dynamic Dates: Doin' the Time Warp. Basically the start date would be "DayRunDate -1" and then the end date would be "RunDate".
