Wordfly - triggered confirmations for e-newsletter

Hi,

I was unsure where to post this query but hopefully someone can help.

Normal 0 false false false EN-AU X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Normal 0 false false false EN-AU X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 We are in the process of switching to Wordfly and with the new triggered emails would like to send an automated confirmation once someone signs up to our e-newsletter. When someone signs up they are given an "interest" in Tessitura, while we could look at these daily and send out the email to anyone to has had the "interest" added in the past 24 hours we would like to make it a seamless, automated process and send the confirmation ideally within 15 mins of them signing up. Would anyone be able to provide assistance on how best to achieve the automated confirmations (from the Tess point of view)?

We have been able to create all of our other triggered emails by using the List Manager but are stuck on this one.

    Hi Katrina -

    This is totally off the cuff and there's probably a better way of doing it, but you could do this a couple of ways...

    Create an appeal that is 'Email confirmations'. Set up your triggered email to create a promotion in that specific appeal. Then make a dynamic list by creating a list of people with that promotion appeal and then use the criteria of anyone with interest of 'blah' and does not have list of 'Already sent email'.

    The only caveat you'd have to think of here is what happens if someone unsubscribes and resubscribes - and also to be careful with the output set to make sure you are emailing to the right email if the patron has multiple.

    A better way would probably be to create some custom keywords that looked at the interest table (tx_cust_tkw) and gave you both the interest and the create time. Then you could set up a dynamic list that looked at when those were created which might give you more accurate and up to date information.

    Without knowing exactly how you are set up, this is all rather vague and general.. But it is definitely doable - it might just take a bit of tweaking!
