Archive Software

This fine archive uses open source software called Collective Access (www.collectiveaccess.org). It can be downloaded for free from their site (or one can pay them to tailor databases to fit the needs of the organization - recommended). I love these people and lots of archives/museums and historic repositories are using it with great success.

They might also look into Alfresco (http://www.alfresco.com/try/) which is starting to make headlines in the archives world (it’s primarily business/records management software that can be tweaked for special collections).

This is not directly Tessitura related but I was wondering what software is in use for archiving historical data at your organisation?

We are looking for software that we would be able to use for historical data and asset management, such as photos and were wondering which programmes other organisations were using.

Any information would be of help.
