Hi Friends,
Dare I say, I want to start using Excel to keep track of different segments we use in Extraction Manager. From what I know the only way to see detail segment row info in an Extraction is to click on it to open up the Criteria and then open up the drop down menu to see what you selected (assuming you are keeping your description of the segment fairly general.) I tried the Definition Report (including saving it as an excel), but that just displays perf codes numbers, pkg codes id numbers, etc).
Does anyone have a way of tracking their segments? If so, I'd love to see just an example of how you do it.

Thanks!

Hi Jessica,
At the Lied Center (Univ. of Nebraska), we made a report in tessitura to track responses for segments with individual source codes. In the example attached, we sent our season brochure to 9 different segments within one extraction.
If you're interested in more info, I'd be happy to chat or connect you with our Data Systems Manager who worked on this several years ago with me.
Best,
Matthew

Hi Matthew!
Very cool spreadsheet, thanks for sharing. But I am looking for ways to document the info behind the criteria selected in an extraction segment, not the results of the actual list and how well it performed. I am unsure if I am clearly articulating my need. I just want a way to keep track what Tessitura data (patron, perf date, perf count, etc) we used for a particular segment within an extraction.

I haven't done this (but probably should), but a spreadsheet /external documentation makes sense to me. It's primarily a reference tool, so I see a lot of value of having it accessible alongside other business information rather than nestled deep within Tessitura and requiring anyone who quickly needs it has to do all the login steps.
It does strike me that there *could* be a way of doing this within Tessitura Analytics as a dashboard, which would add a benefit of having some sort of live-ish count statistics. And since dashboards are available through the web application / can be saved out, they retain some of the quick access aspect.
