Discount for Series When Purchasing at Different Times

I'm wondering if anyone has built a subscription/series model that offers a discount when shows are purchased at different times. For example - buy 4 shows and get 25% discount - but you can buy 3 and then add the fourth at a later date and the discount would still apply? Right now we only have the ability to offer discounts for a subscription or series as a single-time purchase but it would be beneficial to be able to offer it as a "rolling" discount that would be automatically applied if a customer returned to purchase an additional event in the series.

  • We've had that at the New Victory pre-pandemic. 

    At the most basic level, the original order makes the patron a certain type of constituent. Their new constituency code then puts them into a MOS with the discounted prices for a later order.

    Since adopting TNEW and having pricing rules come into existence, we were able to handle the fancier aspects of this model using native functionality rather than web customization--it's been a while (and I never personally set it up), but I'd summarize it as a combination of pricing rules to change the cart, pricing messages, automated updates of constituencies, lists involving those constituencies, and then back to the pricing rules to connect to the lists. All made "delightful" by the fact that messaging rules will only fire once a session, so also often iterations of them so that upsells/explanations would appear after a second-add-to-cart, etc.

    I realize all posts here are tied to someone making a request meant to happen now, BUT I'm quite excited for when we'll get to experiment with entitlement fulfillment via v16 Memberships. The 'later date' orders could then allow a certain quantity of tickets at the discount but not more, and etc.
