Hi everyone! I have a list of constituents with a Teacher affiliation to one or more schools each. I'd like to output the selected email address for each affiliation but I can't find an output element to do that for me. Before writing one I did some searching here, and I found a post by Kevin Sheehan from three years ago saying the functionality was added in V 15.1, which I am on. What gives? thanks!
Edit: I found the answer. It's not an output element itself, but if an email exists, it will be used when a constituent is pulled into a list or extraction by relationship and the standard email output elements. I wonder what that means about custom email output elements? Relevent text below from the documentation:
Email – An email address linked to the affiliation. If one of the affiliates is added to a list or extraction set based on the affiliation (through the Advanced Relationship Options), this email address will be used by standard address output elements and in the standard extraction output. The dropdown lists all email addresses from the individual record; addresses inherited by an individual from a household are not listed.
I'm glad you found the answer Hazel! Custom email output elements are not affected by the Advanced Relationship Options selections. To get the email address (or postal address or phone) that is specified on a relationship, you should use the standard elements.
