TNew/Wordfly: "Subscribe to our newsletter" emails

Hello-

We are attempting to improve the process surrounding capturing e-mails via the "subscribe to our newsletter" box on our website. If you have a similar setup you know the e-mail addresses automatically get added to wordfly.

If they really are brand new patrons, we don't put them into tessitura because all we have is an e-mail with no other information. Has anyone had some success with a "second step" for these patrons? Either a follow-up e-mail or something in the confirmation asking for further contact information? What are the  customization options we have using TNew and/or wordfly? Have you found a process that works particularly well?

Related question: Is anyone using/have used Leadacity from capacity interactive? Do you find it worth it? Is there an option for multiple fields in the pop up?

Thanks for the help!

We have a third-party email collection software (Sumo) that asks for people to enter their email address before navigating away from our Marketing site, but it has the same issue of us not being able to create a Tess account unless we have a name.

So each week, I take that week's list of emails from Sumo and for the ones that don't match a record in Tessitura (full disclose, I do the matching in SQL, so it's very fast... I wouldn't want to look up every email that came in), we send a "Welcome - please select your interests!" email in Wordfly with a CTA button that leads to TNEW's Create Account Brief page https://my.balletaustin.org/account/create/brief where they can set a password and select their Interests. If you're already using Interests for your mailing lists, that's all there is to it!

We also have an Attribute that we use to track people from these kinds of third party sign ups who have Opted In to more info from us, and I have the Manage Attribute Utility running each day off a dynamic list to add that attribute to any new accounts created in TNEW who select our E-Newsletter Interest.

We've only had this system set up for a few months, but we're seeing an average 40% open rate and 10% click through rate on these emails... I'd say it's only mildly succesful in getting people to actually create Tessitura accounts, but it's better than just letting those emails go nowhere!
