Who wants to talk about Performance reminder email? I'll start...
We started sending out reminders with basic information and links to neighborhood info (transit, parking, restaurants) about 8 years ago, before we were on Tess. At first it was a laborious process, and we decided to send them once a week. Thursdays was the lucky day that was chosen, so patrons received the reminders anywhere between 4 and 11 days before their show.
Since then, we've made the process much more efficient and automated. But we're still only sending on Thursdays. We're rethinking the strategy now, and are considering sending waves of reminders (one week out, day of). Wondering if anyone has tried this. When do you send your email reminders?
Here's an example of our email:
Any thoughts? Any one else care to share their email reminder stories?
We currently send out our Reminder emails every Monday morning. We are doing it once a week at the moment only because we are sending through TMS and so as we have to import a text file is easier to do run the extraction and import manually for now.
However, we are starting to look at WordFly and will be looking to set the Reminders to run such that the customer gets their reminder 8 days before the main performance they are seeing that week.
The sql we have written for this will ensure that that customer only get a single reminder each week, as we did not want to flood some of our regular customers with too many emails.

Reminder email
We haven't nailed down a plan yet. One idea we discussed was sending two email, one a week before the show with a ical link, and one the day of, or the day before with links to our restaurant partners. We've been pondering what's the most effective and what's too much email... The idea of customers selecting their own reminder preferences is intriguing.
