Performance Reminders

Who wants to talk about Performance reminder email? I'll start...

We started sending out reminders with basic information and links to neighborhood info (transit, parking, restaurants) about 8 years ago, before we were on Tess. At first it was a laborious process, and we decided to send them once a week. Thursdays was the lucky day that was chosen, so patrons received the reminders anywhere between 4 and 11 days before their show.

Since then, we've made the process much more efficient and automated. But we're still only sending on Thursdays. We're rethinking the strategy now, and are considering sending waves of reminders (one week out, day of). Wondering if anyone has tried this. When do you send your email reminders?

Here's an example of our email:

Any thoughts? Any one else care to share their email reminder stories?

  • Hi Brian,

We send out weekly performances reminders to tiicket purchasers.   They go out as HTML or Text depending on the customer's settings.  We  also have the ability to allow a web user visting to sign up for a reminder email to be sent to them on a date that they choose, for an event that they choose.  This can be done without them having to purrchase a ticket.  This functioality we will be turning on for our single ticket on sale date.  We have a job that runs daily and chacks to see if there are any of this type of reminder email to be sent.

A sample of our weekly reminder to ticket purchasers can be seen here:  http://www.mccarter.org/weekly_perf_alert.html  The other reminder is similar in fashion the only thing different is the copy.  If you are interested in seeing the sign up page for web users let me know and I can send the link to you.

What are some of the things you are thinking of doing?
