Hi everyone, we are looking at allowing drinks in our venues with a purchased cup. Does anyone offer this? If so, do you sell the cups or give them away? How do you set it up in Tessitura? Do you allow people to reuse them another night? Where did you buy your branded cups at a good price? Any other things we should consider? Thank you!
Three years ago we switched to all reusable cups (hot and cold). We don't charge more for them, but give a discount to those who bring them back. Since it's all of our cups we don't track anything in Tess. At another organization I worked for we sold sponsorships of the cups.
Check with the folks at BAM. They did “sippy cups” a few years back...

We've done sippy cups at a couple of our performances. We ordered ours through Whirley, which is the same company that a lot of the Broadway theaters use (https://www.whirleydrinkworks.com/). The other company we looked at was Lika Cup (https://www.likacup.com/), also used by Broadway & Lincoln Center. The pricing and quality of the samples I reviewed from both were comparable, but Lika had a higher minimum than what we were looking to order.
We allow drinks in our venues with a purchased cup. The cup in included in the cost of the drink. We sell the drink ticket as a voucher in Tessitura. We do not allow re-use. If needed I can find our vendor but we are Canadian so not sure it will help you. :)
Thank you! We have to use pre-approved vendors per University guidelines but it's very helpful to know you sell drink ticket vouchers in Tessitura! Figuring out how to sell the cup/drink is our biggest challenge because we don't have a liquor license, we use the one that comes with the catering company so our drink and cup purchases need to be separate.
