We are on TNEW and one of our clients wants to add a Facebook tracking pixel to the confirmation page:

Tessitura says this must be entered in Google Tag Manager, but my web developer says NO:
"We are not asking to use Google Tag Manager or Google Analytics. We are asking to place a code snippet from a 3rd-party onto the “thank you” page (post-sale).
The single line of JavaScript code that was requested by is:
This is a script from Facebook (NOT Google), which interfaces with an existing Facebook pixel we have already installed on our side.
If I am missing something, I would like to understand. I’m not currently aware of how to use Google Tag Manager to load Facebook Pixel script"
Am I missing something? Is this code added to a system table in Tessitura? As you can see I have limited understanding of this process, and I am failing to communicate properly. Please advise if you are able!

Google Tag Manager is a tag-agnostic platform - it is used to organize and place the broad number and type of tracking pixels that organizations may need to manage for advertising purposes through a single portal. It is for tags (or javascripts) from many different advertising providers, not just Google.
Facebook has a help article that addresses placing their pixels using Google Tag Manager.

The Google Tag Manager container is placed using your TNEW Template, and then you can configure the Facebook pixel tag within the Tag Manger interface to execute only on the receipt page, using firing rules to define the page in TNEW you would like - in this case the receipt page.
Currently this is the best, most flexible supported method for placing tracking pixels of all types on your TNEW site.

There are other methods they could use, for instance coding it in to your custom template, however, the Tag Manager solution is much cleaner and easier to manage.
There are no options for entering this in to a TNEW content field that would be supported.

I agree with Chris here. As a person who has dealt with placing pixels all over the place in TNEW since 2010-ish; save yourself a headache and use tag manager. In the end it will be most organized solution. I setup Marketings tag manager a few years ago and I can review and share the facebook setup if you want.
That would be tremendously helpful, Travis! My web developer confessed that he has never worked with the integration, so any documented instruction would be wonderful!
