Google Analytics Tracking and Promo Codes

Hi,

I am asking this question for our Marketing department. We use TNEW 6 and use Google Tag Manager. We have Google Analytics tracking when links are clicked from emails/ads so we can tell if they make it to the purchase path and make a purchase.  But it seems like the tracking gets lost when a promo code is used. 

Are we missing something?

  • Sounds like an interesting problem! There is a Chrome extension called Google Tag Assistant. It might be able to help you debug the problem -- you can use it to record what GTM does as you reproduce the issue while making a purchase with a promo code, and then see how all the tags were fired over the course of your session.
