Hello all,
I'm curious to hear if anyone is working with a vendor that specializes in Google Analytics and has experience/integrating using Tessitura.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Kathryn
Im also curious to hear from people what sort of data they'd most like to integrate? And which way you are integrating data? I presume, Tessitura -> GA. Or are you going both ways?
I do not know if this is something you are interested in but Universal Analytics can allow you to override the auto generated "client ID" with a "user ID" derived from another source like a CRM (e.g. Tessitura) to get an idea about how your known users (patrons) interact with your site once they have logged in. It takes some custom integration, but Luna Metrics has a good blog post about the concept.

Thanks very much Michaela. I'll have a read. Looks like it might have some potential usefulness. Have you gone down this route?
Currently no. My collegue and I learned about it at a recent GA training done by lunametrics in Boston. It’s definately something we are interested in looking into for the future. Luna metrics is a great GA/GTM learning resource.
Right now we are focused tracking and measuring campaigns in by using Tessitura sources as the utm_sources. Happy to share more on that as well if you are interested.
Cheers,
Michaela
Hi MIchaela,
Are you replacing the UTM_Source parameter with a source code from Tess? That is an interesting idea on tracking sources. My only concern with that on my end, is that the source would no longer be identifiable as an email campaign/social campaign/or another. Unless you are using your UTM_Medium source for tracking that area?'
I agree about Lunametrics - they are awesome. Been following them for years; and also had done 1 of their seminars in Boston a few years ago. Really valuable organization!
Hi Michael,
Yes, we replace the utm_source with our sources from Tessitura. Each source we use corresponds to a specific list or thing (like nutcracker Facebook paid, if using an outside source) so its easy to know what email/post/list went with what, we also refine with utm_medium & utm_campiagn.
I did a presentation on it at TLCC2018 (you’ve got google analytics now what -was the section title). I am on a mini-vacation today and tomorrow but am happy to send you my presentation early next week or talk more about it if you are interested.
