hi folks,
We're new to Tessitura and looking to understand what's best practice or indeed just what other venues in the UK do to produce labels from extractions or lists. Do you mail merge into your own templates, or save list to file and do something clever using word and excel, or do you print direct from Tessitura?
fingers crossed for lots of replies!
All the best,
Giles
Hi Giles,
Mail merging from List Manager is really easy. You need to set up a template with the tessitura fields you want included (I’ve got a standard one I can send you if it helps?). Run your list and when you’re happy go to reports. Under labels and letters there’s a report called ‘User defined format from a list’. In the parameters your output format should be ‘standard mailing labels’ and then select your lists plus the other required fields (I usually don’t include decoys and select Alpha from the sort by field) Click ok and this will create a report that looks like a list of labels. Because everyone uses different size labels this never usually fits if you print straight from here but it you click the ‘mail merge’ button in the icons at the top (it’s to the right of the little disk icon – hover over it to check you’ve got the right one) it will allow to merge straight into you’re template.
Hope this helps, Sarah

Hi Giles
Sarah's point about the labels not fitting is why we set up various different labels in Infomaker, hey can then be selected in the User Defined Output report.
