Gala Reservations Online

Hello Tessiturians,

Wondering if anyone hosts a Gala where all the RSVP's are done online. We have an annual Gala that has always been managed by our development department and they are now considering to migrate to a web based RSVP. The way our Gala works is that tables are sold to major donors and they usually supply us with a list of people that will sit at their table. Like most things, these lists change all the time and most often very last minute. So we need a system that would allow a table purchaser to look up their reservation and add/edit their table guests. Has anyone had success launching a similar endeavor online? If so, let me know how you went about it. What technology, Tessitura?, problems, successes, etc...

Thank you,

Christian @ The Tech

  • Hi Christian,

We're actually working on an online system to allow our patrons to RSVP for Elevated Events in Tessitura.  However it will be far from completely automated.  What we're doing is charging the money through the Contributions tab of Ticket Orders (the same way as we process memberships online) and then using a CSI to collect all other important information.  Development will take the CSI and use it to actually populate the Elevated Event on the patron records.  We still consider this a huge step up from manually processing credit cards.  If you'd like any more info please let me know.

  • We sell a few elevated events as ticketed events (with the sections of a GA house named to reflect levels). The ticket office takes the money and puts it on account in a payment method reserved for that event.
