MailChimp // MonkeyWrench

We're interested in learning more about the functionality of MailChimp/MonkeyWrench and any drawbacks. We're currently using WordFly, has anyone one made this move or if you're currently on MailChimp could you tell us about your experience? Thanks!

  • Hi Rosa,

We are looking to possibly make a similar change from WordFly to MailChimp. Did you end up going ahead with this?

    Thanks,

    Beth

  • Hi Beth,

We’re seriously considering it, but at this point we’re still exploring the integration. We had an initial meeting with MonkeyWrench and have another one scheduled with our IT staff. It seems like it would resolve some of the issues we’ve run into when the same email address lives on more than one record. I’ll let you know what happens. Also, if you find someone who made the switch or is on MailChimp now we’d love to talk to them!

    Rosa

  • Hi Rosa,

We're on Mailchimp here at Pacific Northwest Ballet. We don't use any integration (we don't have super complicated data) but what we miss most (we used to be on WordFly) is triggering/automated emails. The design and tracking aspects are far superior with Mailchimp in our opinion and outweigh the integration piece. We'd probably use MonkeyWrench if it was 1/4th the price.

  • Hi Josh,

Thanks for the insight! One concern we have with WordFly is the number of outages that occur. We’ve definitely had some headaches over how they handle tracking and bugs in the WYSIWYG. It does seem like the price for MonkeyWrench could get out of hand very quickly. Thanks for your feedback!
