I am looking to use the GeoArea functionality to build lists built on the criteria of any constituent in q 100 mile radius of Mount Vernon. I have a list of about 900 zip codes.
I am looking to see if anyone has used the GeoArea. Did it work for you? How did you set it up?
We set up Geographic Area. The way we’ve used it is in T-stats to give us more information for Marketing campaigns and also for our Development Department to show for grant applications.
We did it by county in our state and then by state for out of state. We set up all states that are out of state in all caps (example: ALABAMA) where in-state counties are sentence case (example: Hillsborough) to make it easier to look at.
We (Marketing) gave the I.T. Department a list of ZIP codes for each county in our state. Every once in a while we have to update it because new ZIPs are being added and when they are, those people go into an unassigned bucket.
