Our Marketing team has been gathering emails from a number of sources and want them added to Tessitura. Some of the lists they have given me include a name but most don't. I was wondering how other organizations are handling importing and creating records where the only piece of information one has is an email address.
For the lists that come with a name I will import them using the order import utility with a dummy address so they are set. I tried adding a dummy name and address for the other lists. This method only works if the create duplicates is set to yes otherwise you get 1 new record and the rest marked as duplicates.
Any suggestions about how anyone is handling this type of request would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Margaret
The typical thing to do, I think, would not be to upload the address to tessitura at all and instead import it into your mail2/wordfly/other tool. Maybe that's a possibility for you? I strive to avoid at all costs creating bad data in my tessi DB, and that's how I'd classify any constituent record without a name.
Thank you! That is what I have been saying but was asked to reach out and see what other organizations were doing.
Hi Margaret,
For what its worth - I concur with Nick. I have told folks that the minimum information they need to upload into Tessitura is a full name and email.
