First NCOA

Hi

We are in the planning stages to do our first NCOA through Tessitura. We are likely going to use Zeta Interactive (formerly eBay Enterprise and before that MBS) so that we can use the NCOA utility right out of the box.

In reading through the documentation, I understand what happens if someone has moved and left a forwarding address, if someone moved and didn’t leave a forwarding address and if an address needs to be standardized. What happens if the address that you exported was perfectly fine – ie: no new address and no standardization needed? From the documentation it looks like it is marked invalid since nothing was returned, but that doesn’t make sense to me.

Also, if anyone has any tips or tricks on how to test prior to our first import, I would appreciate hearing your thoughts.

Thanks

    Hi Jess,

If the address you exported was perfectly fine, it stays as it was; nothing gets changed.

In terms of testing prior to first import, all you need is to look at the NCOA Processing report  after the import.  Please note that import does not modify the addresses in your database; it just saves the file some place.  Process portion of the procedure does the importing into your database.  If you do not see any errors on the import report, the final portion, process, should run without problems.  I found an exception though;  the procedure works fine, even if  you get the following error in the import phase:

Error = [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0]Invalid character value for cast specification

Here is a warning:  this procedure deletes the old address, if it imports a new (move) address.

Laima, you should still be able to contact Zeta at eBay, and they will guide you through the signup process.  Here are my two contacts:

    Mellynchuk. Mark, mmellynchuk@ebay.com

    Anderson, Rodriguez, anderodriguez@ebay.com

    Hope this helps!

  • Hi Jess and Laima-

Just curious if you ever went through with the NCOA  process with Zeta?

How did it go? Any helpful tips or insight would be great.

    Thanks!

    Jessica
