Mail2 Upgrade

Has anyone recently upgraded their mail2 account to the new dashboard and encountered issues with Tessitura integration? Would love to chat if you have -- we upgraded a week ago and are still having issues, especially with scheduled campaigns.

I had a quick conversation with Micah at the Cooper-Hewitt Museum. They worked with MailChimp and JCA on a very simple/limited integration to Tessitura that was funded through a grant form MailChimp. This integration was built and shared with the Tessitura community with the hope that the community would begin to add more enhancements and functionality. I’ve pasted the opening paragraph of the MailChimp-Tessitura integration document below and here is the link that Chuck Buchanan shared in a previous post about the integration announcement: https://blog.mailchimp.com/partnering-with-cooper-hewitt-for-a-tessitura-integration/

There are several people/orgs that have expressed interest in learning more about this. Micah is willing to get on a conference call with us to give more details on their integration and has also shared with me his contact at MailChimp. If you are interested in being on the call, please email me  at hlevine@92y.org with your contact info and I will try to coordinate a time for us to conference call. Thanks, Howard

    Introduction

MailChimp was thrilled to help out with this collaborative project between Cooper Hewitt and the Smithsonian Institute. When they told us about the hurdles associated with running a museum, from updating member profiles to selling tickets to managing donor profile systems, we realized that so much happens before they even start thinking about email marketing. All of these labor-intensive workflows were taking away from other initiatives, which is why we decided it was time for an integration with the Tessitura Network. In collaboration with Cooper Hewitt and JCA, Inc., we’re excited to release a tool that allows for ad-hoc and scheduled list syncs between the Tessitura Network and MailChimp. Gone are the days where teams manually exported and imported lists. Tessitura admins can automatically manage these tasks, freeing up valuable nonprofit resources in the process. We think this integration will prove useful for your organization. Please enjoy.

We are open sourcing this software within the Tessitura Network so that it may be expanded upon and remixed in the future. If you have a problem with the software, or if you have an idea for a new feature, please keep the following in mind.

    1.     Create your own Fork of the code and submit pull requests. This will allow us to track new additions and changes in a reasonable way. This is the best way to get your idea or bug fix back into the main repository.

    2.     Bugs and issues will be dealt with as time permits. This is open source software, so keep in mind that the authors of this software will NOT be providing continual support. It is up to the Tessitura Network community to self-maintain the software.

    3.     This software is a starting point. It does what it says in the documentation below. That said, we wish it will grow and take shape as the community sees fit. Feel free to always post any ideas in the Issues section of the repository so we can all engage in a discussion around your thoughts.

    Hi,

We've previously used Wordfly and are now using Silverpop which is owned by IBM. It's opened up some interesting uses in terms of targeting and personalisation, however as it's not fully integrated into Tessitura so comes with its own set of challenges. So I too would be very interested in Tess-friendly email integrations.

We are actively considering a return to Wordfly - we had switched off three or so years ago, but the situation of late has become untenable. My understanding of MailChimp is that Cooper Hewitt did the customization in house, which we simply don't have the resources for here.

On the other hand, if anyone wants to get together to start a software company that offers a fully Tess-friendly email marketing product, I hear there's a market for that these days.
