We have a recurrent problem in which a program may sell out well in advance, but come the night of we have a sizable attrition rate, as well as newcomers seeking tickets on the day of.
We then have the opposite problem of an event NOT selling out, or not even filling up at all.
I am interested to hear if anyone has success stories with reminder-emails or phone calls, something that reminds someone they purchased tickets and an event is coming up (in the hopes they will actually attend). What do you do? Email blast? How long before the event? Is there any additional incentive (i.e. come early and get 15% off this restaurant)?
I am also curious to hear success stories for dealing with un-sold ticket inventory fairly late in the game. We are looking into half-price and other 3rd party options, such as Goldstar. What are tools you have used to make use of un-used inventory, particularly in a way to connect with audiences who might not normally have you on their radar.
Any thoughts appreciated!
