Hi everyone,
I'm on the organising team for a panel at this year's TLCC about Free Events for Audience Development. It'll be a panel discussion featuring short presentations from the panelists and the Q&A afterwards. We're looking at all sorts of audience events and their usefulness (or otherwise) to your organisation.
We've got a mix of presenters so far from the fine arts and theatre world, but I would love to know if there is anybody from a museum who might be attending TLCC that would be interested in being part of the session?
Cheers,
Matt
Matt, I could speak to our museum side of free events which are currently shifting, however the tracking of audience in tessitura still an elusive obstacle we haven't surmounted in the last two years since I've been their tessitura lead.
Most recent example of our free event was our opening reception for our exhibition (Shane Moulton's picture puzzle door) which we opened on our third Thursday free neighborhood art walk day to attract a more diverse audience. Opening consisted of partnering with a live streaming tv company, musicians, and of course themed cocktails. http://ybca.org/converge-shana-moulton
