Marketing emails marked as phishing

We are using Wordfly to send our regular Marketing emails but suddenly our emails are being marked as spam or phishing. We have not changed anything in the basic email just the norm: photos, synopsis, etc... to cause the switch. Has this happened with anyone else?

  • Hi Janna,

We have had issues with being blacklisted for a few reasons that we had no control over.  The most important thing to do is to check to see if you have been blacklisted, then if blacklisted, contact the organization that has the blacklist and request to have your domain removed from the blacklist.  They should give you a reason and you may have to perform some tasks to remediate the issue.  A good tool to use to see if you are blacklisted is:

    http://mxtoolbox.com/blacklists.aspx

One other thing to check is your SPF record(s) in DNS.  Wordfly was extremely helpful in this area as well.

    Good Luck,

    Allen

  • Hi Janna,

It’s not related to Wordfly, but it might be worth checking to see if any of your IPs have wound up on a blacklist.  That was the case for me once, when a huge number of people weren’t getting email order confirmations.

    Cheers,

    Kathleen
