Removing constutuents with no email address in lists/extractions

Hi All

We're having some problems with the way we remove constituents who do not have an email address from our lists and extractions we use for emailing. The problem is linked to the way the household model works in v11 and the way we are storing email addresses.

When we pull a list, it is the household that is getting pulled through, as that is where the transaction is and therefore meets the criteria that we set. That part is correct. The problem arises when we add the line to remove them if they do not have an email address. As the email address is stored on the individual, the household does not have an email address and that is causing most of the households we are pulling to be removed when they shouldn't be.

Does anyone else have a solution to this. I have tried all of the "Add Individual" setting in list manager, with no success. The other option I can see is to make sure that all households have an email address where one of the individuals do, but I don't really want to do that unless it is totally necessary.

Thanks,

Chris.

  • Chris,

In the “define Criteria” window, do you have the radio button “Leave the individual constituents as selected by the list criteria” checked? That’s usually the first place to look.

  • Hi Mandy

Yes, this was one of the first things I looked at, but there are no transactions on any of the individual constituents, so none of the individual constituents qualify to be pulled through into the list - only the household
