Source Code wrong FY in Posting Report

I have an order transaction that showed up on a posting report under a GL for a fiscal year from 2004. I was able to narrow down the order and the only thing I can see that would make the order point to the incorrect year of 2004 was the source code that was accidentally used.

Why is this source code specifically linking the money transaction to a FY on my posting report. I know people enter the "wrong" source codes sometimes, but they don't seem to be linked to the FY on the posting reports?

Thanks!

  • The fiscal year for performances, packages, and fees comes from the campaign to which they are assigned, not the source used for the transaction.  The fiscal year on payments is based on the product or fee to which the payment is applied, so again the campaign of the products and fees.  The fiscal year for a gift certificate transaction, though, does come from the source (or really the campaign assigned to the appeal to which the source belongs) if the only thing in the order is the gift certificate transaction (no products purchased).  Was the suspect order a gift certificate order?  If not, double check the fiscal year on the campaigns to which the performances, packages, and/or fees were assigned.

  • Thank you Kevin!!! Precisely the answer I was hoping for. It was a gift certificate transaction!
