Adjusting invoices

Hi Allyson,

There is not any documentation on adjusting invoices.  But I can tell you what you need to know.

I’m going to assume that the reason you need to adjust the invoice is that some of the seats paid by the invoice were returned/released.  When that happens you need to put the credit from the invoice on account.  After saving the order, go to the constituent record and apply the on account money to the invoice (i.e. make an invoice payment and use the on account payment method to pay for it).

The key thing to remember when adjusting invoices is that you cannot apply a credit directly to an invoice.   You have to hold the money in another payment method and then use that payment method to pay off the adjusted portion of the invoice.
