moving money from one On Account payment method to another?

Hello!

With the impending close of our fiscal year, I have been asked to move all of the funds from an FY20 On Account payment method into one for FY21. I do see that there is a new nifty utility for that, but we are not yet on 15.1. 

Are there any other ways to make this happen?

    I think you're mistaken about that new utility -- it is only used to move funds from on-account to some kind of refund, contribution, or gift certificate (but not to another on-account method).

    The best practice is to not segment payment methods by fiscal year. So the GL that you set for your on-account payment method should be usable for both credits and debits regardless of FY. If that's not possible for you right now, then what you probably want to do is have Finance roll the FY20 funds into the FY21 account and then change the GL/name of your current on-account payment method.

    There is a HUGE NEED to allow this utility to put On Account money onto another On Account Payment Method. Trust me, entire shows of 8 performances can be cancelled into the wrong payment method accidentally, and being able to use that utility to move On Account money to another On Account payment method based on a list would eliminate the pain of having to do it with T-SQL.
     
    Why are Payment Method types excluded anyway? That has to be an arbitrary design decision.
