Importing transactions into Great Plains.

I am doing some reshearch on how our finance department can import transcation into Great Plains.  Does anyone know if there is a way to do this and if so how?

Thanks

    Richard,

We acquired an additional piece of software from our Microsoft Partner called Integration Manager to import transactions into Great Plains.  The cost was minimal for us and it has been worth every penny.  This software allows the import transactions to the different modules and other information such as addresses.  It saves our organization tons of time.  There is a bit of setup to do.  We use excel templates to prepare the information for import.

There was also a conference presentation on this topic from Nashville in 2008.  James Walker form Stratford Festival of Canada did a presentation.  I still have the handout of the presentation if you cannot find it in the archive.  The session was called Admin/Finance Quick Fire:  Accounting And Business Systems Integrations And The Business Practices That Go With It.

Integration Manager is the way to go. We were able to set it up quickly and haven't had any problems with it in years.  It isn't very expensive and it is probably included in your Business Ready Licencing.

Simply put, we modified a Tranactions by Posting report and our finance department runs it every morning for the batches of the previous day. They export that report to a CSV file and then run Integration Manager against those files. It is quick, simple and best of all, our Finance Department can do it without my help.

PS Thanks for the plug, Jean ;-)
