Windcave/Payment Express EMV device stuck on Sign Receipt screen

Hi everyone - 

We're in the process of getting EMV devices setup for our box office.  I attempted a test transaction today and all seemed well until the device got stuck on a Sign Receipt screen, and nothing I did would like me cancel the transaction.  The application itself timed out so that transaction isn't even active in Tessitura anymore, and there is no record of it on the account.  I have sent a support email into Windcave, but I figured I'd ask here as well and see if anyone ran into a similar issue.  Unplugged the device and doing a hard reboot also did not help, it just went back to the Sign Receipt screen.

  • This happened to us all the time and it was quite frustrating!  I think you can clear the "Sign Receipt" message by processing an order with a debit/credit payment method - you don't actually have to process payment.  We don't have our visitors sign receipts so I had Windcave update the sign receipt settings on each device.  It is a little time-consuming because they have to do it one device at a time, but it's definitely worth not having the device beep and stuck on Sign Receipt. You will need administrator rights on the computer in which the device is connected to. I typically call Windcave as it could be a few days until they respond to the ticket.
