Has anyone been able to accept gift cards as a partial payment via Tessitura?
We would like to issue and allow our customers to make payments with gift cards. But our initial investigation indicates that Tessitura is unable to pull the gift card balance from the processor. And thus cannot handle this type of transaction.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean here, but I'll do my best!
We can accept partial payments from Tessitura issued gift vouchers, if the customer doesn't know the balance we try and pay off the full value to Gift Voucher, and if the balance is not enough to cover the payment an error message appears stating how much is left on the voucher. Then we change the amount to be paid by gift voucher to the remaining balance, and insert a new payment line to pay off the remainder.
Is that what you meant?

To the best of my knowledge Tessitura cannot accept gift cards (this is different then the system issued gift certificates). If anyone has found a way, we at the Science Museum would be happy to buy you dinner and a show because this has been on our wish list since we went live!
We use gift cards issued through our credit card processor because we want our store, ramp, and food vendor who are not on Tessitura, to also be able to accept them as payment. To make this work, we "sell" (i.e. positive Visa payment and negative gift card payment) and "redeem" the gift cards in Tessitura using a payment method, but the card isn't actually credited or debited through the system. We have to use either a hypercom or a website to do that. It's not elegant, but it works.
