Private lessons

I've heard that it may be possible to schedule private lessons through Tessitura. Right now, we have about 20 different private lesson teachers and 150 private lessons students. Some take lessons regularly, and some take them sporadically. We've billed monthly, and by the lesson, but there doesn't seem to be an easy way to keep track of scheduling and billing. Our schedule lives in Excel right now, with each teacher having a separate tab, which is not ideal. Would love to connect with anyone handling large volumes of private lessons and learn how you manage it.

  • Hello Elizabeth,

We use a database product called Artifax to schedule our more "on-demand" programs. It sounds like they are similar to your private lessons; the customers can choose any date or time within some boundaries. Artifax can exchange information with Tessitura so that you can keep Tess up-to-date with billing and customer info, and refer to Artifax for resource schedules.

  • Thx, Michael.

You were a great resource at the conference, I may be calling on you for more insight. J Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to visit the Artifax presentation while in San Fran, but I will definitely look into that!
