Transacting to Schools or Teachers

Hi

We are currently looking at whether we transact to schools or teachers for ticket purchases. We would like to transact to School however we are struggling to come up with a way to link it to a particular teacher so that we can mail teachers with information about particular shows based on their booking history. We would like to keep the information on the School's record so that the booking history for that school is kept in one place and the fact that individual teachers seem to move school regularly so its often difficult to keep up to date.

We are looking at the possibility of using special request in some way but if anyone has any feedback about how they are transacting and then subsequently reaching out to thiose bookers with mailings it would be much appreciated.

Many thanks

Nicola

  • Hi Nicola,

We have a constituent record for both the school and the teacher, with the teacher being an affiliation of the school. We make the order under the school name, but use the special request “For” field to link it to the teacher too. This way you can easily sign up both the school itself and individual teachers to your mailings. We have around 1000 school visits a year and this method has worked well for us.

  • Thanks for the replies, I have had a look at that presentation and it's really helpful.

We are hoping to move forward with using the school record as the main place for the booking and linking the teacher using the 'for' field. This might be a stupid question but how are you linking the schools and teachers in your mailings if you are using the Spec Req function?

    Thanks

  • Hi - Can explain how you pull a list once you have someone listed under the "for" or "indicator?"

  • If you want to do it via a list.  And your orginization uses the "new "Standard" ticket history there is a list builder elements called "Ticket History Role" and "Package History Roll".  Once you get this into a List you can pick folks who are:

    • Just Owners
    • Just Initiators
    • Owners / Initiators
    • Just Recipents
    • Owner/Recipient
    • Initiator/Recipient
    • Owner/Initiator/Recipient

If you have been on Tessitura for a long time you may still have an older ticket history that may not be able to be used in this way.

    Hope that is helpful.
