Hello, folks!
We plan to sell our school tour performances in Tessitura for the first time this year. However, rather than purchasing a ticket per student, schools play a flat fee regardless of the number of attendees. So far the plan is to build a performance with only one seat available, but I was wondering if anyone else processed their education sales this way and what worked best?
Thanks!
I agree with what Katie said, assuming you'll have access to an estimated attendance count? That will be useful for grants and such if you need that information down the road? Maybe that isn't useful to your organization, in which case, I think your idea would probably work fine. You might also be able to use the bookings functionality? We haven't delved into that area of Tess, because it wasn't going to work for our needs.
We use editable pricing for our tours that we know have a total price regardless of the number of students that attend. Here is the documentation: https://www.tessituranetwork.com/Help_System_v151h/Tessitura.htm#Ticket%20Pricing/Editable%20Pricing.htm
This way we can accurately reflect the student attendance at the tour, which we have to report on at the end of the year.
We are looking for insight into how other orgs are accepting tour date requests and payment for tours. So if you have an efficient process, let me know!
