Booking Templates by Category

Hello! I've just started experimenting more with Booking Templates. I was under the impression that if I selected a Category in the template, it would allow me to apply the template only to bookings with that category. But it seems I'm incorrect? I created templates that are only meant for my category of Studio Program, but there is nothing stopping me from also applying it to any other category of booking (Adults, Seniors, etc.). It's not the worse thing ever, just not how I imagined it would work, and makes me wonder what is the point of assigning a category to the template? I was hoping I could avoid having a super-long drop-down list of templates by making them specific by Booking Category. Any insight on this would be appreciated! Thanks!
