Our current set up for admission, groups, members has us unable to Save a transaction without first taking a payment.
we would like to start booking our school visits in advance...create an Order Number for them so they can be brought up on the day of the visit to take payment then...unfortunately we cannot SAVE the order without taking a payment...
any Step by Step on how to do that?
Hi Curtis - You just need to check your Mode of Sale setup. There is a Must be Paid option, and you'll just need to uncheck that for your Groups mode of sale.
In your Mode of Sale, do you have the "Must Be Paid" option unchecked? We have our Group Sales MOS set to allow orders to be saved without payment, while Box Office ticket sales have to have payment.
If you're looking for that setting, it'll be Go To > Ticketing Setup > Modes of Sale. You'll want a specific MOS for group sales, which you can set to be unpaid and unticketed.
thank you
Hi Curtis,
Are you on TNEW? We found that TNEW expects payment regardless of what the MOS says.........
We are and have recently done a series of schools bookings without taking payment. There's a manual element to our process but it worked really well.
If you're interested (or anyone else for that matter), email me directly martin.keen@nida.edu.au and I'll provide the details to see if it's a process that suits you and your organisation.

All good tips, one final thing I would add is we use different price types to define adult, child and SEN tickets for our Education performances, these are all valued at 0 so you can place the order without payment because payment total is 0. We then add an additional price type to the order when confirming which covers cost. This means that you can still report on who came to any event with price types and you don't need to do anything fancy to place an order without payment.
