Good morning all,
Another question coming up as we meet with a new organization joining our consortium and getting ready for implementation into Tessitura...
How are some of your organizations tracking interactions with artists who may be providing items to a gift shop, teaching programs for education, and doing other things with the organizations which have a value to be reimbursed to the artist?
For example, if a piece of art (or multiple pieces) are sold out of the gift shop (and built in Tessitura), how have people been tracking when that art was sold and tying it to an artist's constituent record so that reports can be pulled which reflect the amount of money that an organization needs to pay to the artist?
Thank you!
Brian
Hi Brian,
At the conference, there was an Open Space discussion on how people were paying freelance artist educators and if anyone was doing so through Tessitura – the conclusion was, unfortunately, that no one in that group was using Tess for this. I don’t know about the accounting side of it, but I was thinking of attaching artists to workshops (for instance, let’s say I have 100 students from six schools coming to a day of workshops, and three different artist educators leading the workshops – there are students from each school in each workshop) through a comp “Artist Educator” price type, just so I could see the artist’s participation on their constituent record, but I haven’t implemented this yet and I’d still be tracking their pay completely separately. (Would love to hear more ideas if anyone’s got them!)
