Has anyone come up with a good way to link child info with parents constituent records when the parent is signing their kids up for summer camp online? I'd like to be able to utilize the recipient field in the line items but I'm not quite sure how to have that info populate through the online purchase path. I know we can go back in after the fact and manually input this info but I'd like to automate the process as much as possible.
How are you selling the camp? Aux performance?
Yep, they are Aux performances.
We had a customization built for that purpose and it takes care of it automatically. Also, we have a custom screen that populates automatically too with birthdate, emergency contacts, authorized adults, allergies, waivers, etc.
Is this functionality currently up and running on your site? Is it something I can take a look at right now?
I am just looking through the old ED forums and I came across this post. Were you ever able to hack this issue?
Not yet. I'm waiting on a customization quote but I'm still trying to find a work around in the event the quote is too high. I'll let you know if I come up with some nifty tricks to solve this issue.
Yes, it is used not just for summer camp, but all of our camps/classes year round.
