Student demographic data report

Hi all:

I am looking to store student demographic data in Tess so that other departments can pull reports of student demographics by school for grant writing and reporting purposes. In Washington, we have something called the "Washington State Report Card" that lists information for each public school, including graduation rates, student demographics, etc. I want to take this data, store it in each of our school records, and then create a report that pulls this data by school or by a given time frame.

Any ideas about where to store this information? I was thinking the research tab, but I am not sure I can pull a report of data stored in this tab.

Best,

April

    Hi April,

That's a great idea and something we would eventually like to do here at SFJAZZ, too. My first thought is to have it as an attribute called race with the different options listed in the attribute value field. You can then create a special output set or report to pull this info.

  • We keep that info on the student's Custom tab. It has to be built on the custom tab, and we also have a custom report that pulls that info. We store both demographics and schools, which we collect from the student through the registration form, and then input on the custom tab when we create the Constituent.
