Can I back date a write off?
Back-dating a write off should be a problem. (Again, the contribution date is editable; the transaction date isn’t.) I would just confer with your finance team so that everyone is on the same page.

We generally back date the posting date. That way Finance knows what day they should book it to.
I’ve done that too – but we only transfer data from Tessitura to our accounting system once a month (gasp, yes, that’s true) so if I back date to a prior month I have to be sure that I enter it manually into the accounting system since that month’s data does not get “re-downloaded” from Tessitura.
