Program book sort name

Hi!

We pull our program book listings through an output set that allows us to select the specific type of program name we would like (ie: Annual support listing or Legacy Giving support listing) but regardless of the type of program book name we select, the "sort name" always comes from the general tab. Is there a way (outside of building a new custom output set element for program book sort name) to get the program book sort names?

Thanks

We built a custom output set element. It turns out to be relatively simple and I'm more than happy to share ours if you like.

I believe that if you run the Program Name Listing report, even though you won't see the correct program sort name on the screen, it will be included if you save the report output to CSV or Excel. But that might not be helpful for your purposes.

  • We just use the Program Name Listing report, which pulls the sort name associated with the specific listing, and put it into Excel.

  • Hi Jess

You could create another Output Set Element that pulls the sortname from the Program Name

There is a Program Name listing element on page 28 of the Output Set Builder Cookbook that you could modify to get what you need.
