Fundraiser Events

Hi All,

Events such as the Opening Night Gala, Curtain Raiser and other fundraising dinners are now booked by Development. When the Box Office books the events in conjunction with other ticketing requests, the "on account" method is used, but we also offer the events on our website and mobile app as ticketed events. We want to be consistent and we also realize that since a portion of the income is considered a donation, we will send acknowledgement letters.

How does everyone out there book events like these? Advice is appreciated since we are getting ready to change a few things.

Thanks,

Susan

  • We’ve set up events this way the first year we were on Tess. Development then changed the way they managed events, but now we will probably go back to ticketed events.

Thanks for the quick response. I personally think this is the way to go.

    Susan,

We have an event called our Sugar Plum Fairy Children’s Ball (formerly called a Luncheon). We sell a ticket to attend the event which includes the cost of the event and a contribution, AND there is an option to purchase a theater ticket to the performance of the Nutcracker that day.

If this is the type of event you intended to describe, I would be happy to talk to you about how we set up our event in Tess.

    Thanks,

    Marie
