Membership Card

Hi,

Does anyone out there use a plastic (credit card style) membership card?

Currently we have a card that you tear out of an A4 page so its printed via an A4 printer.

We are looking at changing to a plastic card, a bit like a high street store loyalty card.

Wondering if anyone uses cards like this and what software you use to print into to them and if you integrate with Tessitura?

Also interested in other uses of these such as scanning with POS for discounts at bar, tracking bar & merchandise purchases, etc?

thanks,

We have a plastic membership card for our donors here at the Science Museum. We use a Datacard printer and print their ID number, names, and a barcode for scanning their ID number on it in black ink. I know there are color printers as well, but we didn’t go that route.

We use the standard Print Acknowledgement Letters report and just have a customized letter type for our membership cards. Then, we simple merge the data into a template for the cards and print – it’s actually very simple.

The hardest part for you would likely be setting up the templates and customized letter type. Our membership cards are fully integrated for ticketing purposes, but we’re currently working on integrating the barcode scanner with our restaurant vendor in order to start importing the sales amounts to the constituent records. If you have more questions, feel free to email me: lkyllonen@smm.org.

    Good luck!
