Hi all,
I process our organisation's dontaions using the 'Contributions' part of Tessitura, and was wondering if there is anyone else who processes pledges/periodic donations this way, who has discovered a method to somehow mark within the payment window that a particular card is the one that the donor always wants charged when it comes to that pledge?
The reason I ask is that some donors have multiple credit cards that they use for different types of transactions with our organization - i.e. a different card for buying tickets to donating (they have their reasons like airline points and the like). And I need a way of knowing which to pick every time.
At the moment the best I can do is to create a CSI associated with that pledge, which tells me to charge e.g. visa card, last 4 digits 1234.
As far as I know this is PCI compliant. However clicking between screens for every donor on the monthly/quarterly list is anoying, and it would be amazing to figure out a way of adding a field in the payment window, or creating a highlight on one of the cards, so that the info is right there and one can speed through processing pledges.
Or to skin the cat a different way - has anyone figured out a way to set up their pledge tracker in a way that would grey out irrelevant cards?
Hope my question makes sense!
Thanks,
Clare.

Hi Clare,
As you set up the pledge in the Contribution Editor, it provides you with the option of tying a credit card to that particular pledge, regardless of the patron having multiple credit cards.
You can also set the right credit card to use from the ‘Contributions’ tab of the constituent record without having to do this from the Contribution Editor once a pledge exists in a person’s account. If the patron decides to change the credit card or has a new expiry date, you can also change the details from this tab. Bring up the pledge, click on ‘Bill Account No’ and select the credit card to use to tie with the pledge.
When you run the Pledge Billing report to charge credit cards en masse, the chosen credit card tied to the pledge will be charged.
Hope this helps!
Cheers,
Katherine
Hi Katherine,
Thankyou so much! I will definitely try these things out - you have opened my eyes.
Really appreciate the help.
