Elevated Events not tied to contributions

So I've used elevated events for our gala and am somewhat comfortable with that.

However, I'd like to utlize the function of elevated events to track invites/RSVPs for parties throughout the year. My question is this. If I know there will be six events tied to a group of people for the year, and this group of people also happen to already have an exisiting campaign/fund/appeal etc...(they pay annual dues), do I create one elevated event for that group of people (e.g. Symphony Club 2013/14) and then add 6 sources(named to match each event) under that elevated event which I can then create promotions/create event invitations for? Or does it function better if I create seperate elevated events for each of the 6 events? Also, since these are events that aren't tied to $, do I not tie a fund to the elevated event?

    Hi Heather -

You've probably already ruled this out as an option, but depending on what you need for functionality, it might be easier to use Activities - if it is a simple matter of tracking Invited/RSVP and fairly simple info like attending count.

Activities don't require any money attachment to them, but aren't quite as robust as Elevated Events when it comes to guest tracking. So it depends on your need - but sometimes an activity can be a quicker and easier way for people to track simple events.
