Deceased constituent appearing on list

Hi there

I am banging my head against a wall trying to figure out why an inactive constituent is being pulled through to lists where they meet specific criteria. I think it may have something to do with their affiliation with a household?

Basically, the constituent is A2 on a household record, with A1 being the constituent's husband.

I have marked the constituent as inactive by clicking Constituents -> Inactive. They now appear greyed out and INACTIVE is displayed in the header. When I click the Relationships tab I can see the affiliation with the household, but this is not marked as inactive and I can't change it due to the fact that the constituent is inactive - which is what I would expect.

Do I need to make the constituent active again and make the affiliation inactive for them to stop being pulled through in lists? That seems silly and would require additional work when making a constituent as deceased if they have any affiliations.

Why isn't the List Manager respecting the inactive status when it's clearly part of the SQL query?

Cheers,

This may not help you with that quirk of List Manager, but one thing we have started to do at City Center is to remove "A1" or "A2" from the deceased constituent's affiliation.  This leaves them on the household's General tab but removes them from the default generated salutation.

This doesn't affect the fact that the deceased is still an "Adult Member" affiliation to the household, which I assume would be the only thing affecting a pull in List Manager.  It may not solve your problem even if it gets the deceased out of the way in other areas of Tessitura.

  • Hi Mike,

Thanks for the suggestion. Just tried it out and the constituent is still being pulled through to the list.

    Hmmm.
