Report on Consistent Contributors

I'm new to lists (and not ready to tackle extractions)... Our Director of Development wants a report of constituents who regularly give year after year after year. I thought I could use this as my list criteria:

Contribution Amount >0

Contribution Date between 07/01/2002 and 06/30/2003

Contribution Date between 07/01/2003 and 06/30/2004

etc....

I expected this to create an "and" condition resulting in a list of constituents who made a contribution during all of these date ranges, i.e.  FY 2003 AND FY 2004, etc., but as soon as I add a second year my count goes to zero.  I have verified we have constituents who have given every year for more than a decade so the count shouldn't go to 0. I think the problem is I'm using the same criteria over and over so I need to use the operator "HAS" but it isn't allowed with a date range.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

  • Hi Barbara,

Create each of your fiscal year lists separately then pull them into a new list (you can find them under Lists/Lists in the folders to the left) and then you can use the has operator.

  • If you want to use lists, make a list for each giving year.  Then create a new list with list in yr1, has list yr2, has list yr3, etc.  This will look at each list and make sure the constituent is on each list.

    Hope that helps.

  • Save each group as a separate list.

Make a new list, and go to Other, add your first list using “has” as the operator. Add the other lists, each in its own line, also using “has.”
