Tracking Benefit Preferences

One of our member/subscriber benefits is a season preview CD, mailed en mass shortly before the new season begins and then throughout the season as patrons join.  We’d like this upcoming season to post the season preview content online and give members and subscribers the option to tell us they don’t want to receive the physical CD, and wondered how we might track this in Tessitura.  Ideally they could simply click a button in an email (mass once a year and maybe triggered throughout the rest of the year) or check a box in the online purchase path, and this would auto-populate a field in Tessitura that could easily serve as list criteria.  Is anyone doing anything like this to manage benefit preferences?  Thanks so much for your advice.

    Hi Randi,

    We aren't doing this, but there is an API method UpdateConstituentAttributes that could be added somewhere on your site to change the value of an attribute indicating their preference.  It looks like this method would require that all of the member/subscribers would need to have the attribute in place already (easy enough with the Manage Attribute Utility).

    Alternatively you could track it as an interest using UpdateConstituentInterestsEx through the API. If you were using TNEW, this is the path I would take as it is fairly easy to set up.
