Monthly giving tax receipt

We did do a cumulative for fund codes a campaign to be used for our  direct response gifts.   Because our development wanted to have particular text in the top portion of the letter we had to do conditional statements.     At this time I was told individual sites cannot set up different formats like can be done in renewals or bills.  

The report does not look at any acknowledgement table letter but is instead a separate report that adds payments and gifts, looks at the decline benefit status in the current membership record and looks the premium table for premiums for the campaign.

We have ended up using the receipt for some of our folks (not Patrons because we don’t have a conditional to change the text) that give installments on a case by case basis.     This was the first calendar year we had this and it has been nice to have but we have not rolled it out for more donors.  

A receipt for all gifts is not practical but it would be doable for the small program.    I think if you design it as a stand-alone report not tied to acknowledgments your IT/AppSupport folks can develop what is needed.  They can ask our AppSupport too for more info.

Just a word on the monthly program – we have not found it very successful and it requires a lot more management especially for declined credit cards.    We tried it first in the low end membership and the response was weak – as the year progressed we have had many cancel or stop the monthly installments.   In our non-membership program there have been less than a dozen responses to the  offer send via e-blast and as an option on the Web.

Our organisation is planning to launch a monthly giving program to the masses however before we start accepting monthly donations we want to resolve the issue of tax receipting.

Just wondering if Development folk have discovered a way of generating an ack letter at the end of the pledge term with one tax receipt for the full amount as opposed to generating individual payment receipts?

Also, our patrons tend to want a receipt for the amount already given prior to the end of each financial year, therefore is it possible to print an ack letter with tax receipt for payments to date? And then print the rest of the pledged amount in the following tax year?

I believe Duane Woods asked the same question in this forum back in 2009 however never received a solid response (that I can see) and I was wondering if there is now a solution to this query four years later. Is this a report that can be generated through Tessitura or has someone customised a report that they can share with us please?
