Hi all,
we are considering changing how we "request" a charitable contribution so that our customers are presented with a suggested figure and can say "yes", "no", or "I don't like your suggestion but I'd like to give more/less", so it's an opt out rather than an opt in.
The suggested figure will be based on a number of factors that makes it a challenge for a human being to calculate - it's not as simple as adding eg £1 to each ticket.
That's not too challenging to do on a web site, but a bit more difficult to do either on the phone or in person, especially if you've got queues of people waiting. We also want to make sure we can get Gift Aid on the charitable contribution.
So the sort of dialogue we envision is:
for phone calls, a recorded message telling the customer what we're doing followed by...
for phone calls or box office in person
Box Office:"That's X tickets at £Y, which includes a donation of £Z".
Customer: "OK" or "Can you remove the donation please" or "Can you adjust the donnation figure to £Q "
I'd appreciate others who have done this sharing how they use Tessitura v11 to help manage that dialogue, and of course how to ensure we can get the Gift Aid as well - I understand that Fees are not subject to Gift Aid and it isn't really a Fee anyway.
