Pulling contribution data for Acknowledgements

Hi All,

I'm trying to pull the following data and when I use an output set it gives me a separate line for every donation each person has ever made.

I want Name, address etc,

donation amount,

if they have a pledge the balance on the pledge,

if they declined their membership benefits,

and in a perfect world I'd also like customer service issues, because that is how we track thank you gifts that we offered them for their donation.

Does anyone have a solution for how to get all of this information into one spreadsheet?

Thanks,

Kanani

  • Hi Kanani

I am working on the assumption that what you are after is not something that would be best solved with customising your acknowledgment report.

If this is the case, then you would need to make custom Output Set Elements and they would get their data from a custom SQL view that compiles all the contribution/pledge and other information into one row.

If the you are unable to make one row for each customer in the custom view, your custom output set elements could have parameters attached so you can limit your results to specific campaigns for example.

You will probably need some help from your IT folks with this, but here are some links to a couple of T-Casts (parts 2 and 3 talk about custom elements) that might be helpful to you and IT that explain what can be done with Output Set Elements and a document (the Cookbook) that contains a variety of examples.

  • Hi Sandra,

Thanks for the information.  I was afraid it might be something a little more complicated.  We are without IT personnel for the time being, but I'll be getting admin rights soon and will get to work learning how to build custom output sets.

P.S. I enjoyed your sessions at the conference.  You were very entertaining!

    Thanks again,

    Kanani
